Hi Gus, Thanks for your answer. I was concerned about the 60Hz from the avr compared to the TV’s 120Hz. Will the avr's speed affect watching live sports? I’m used to my plasma's 600Hz refresh time. Should I run a separate HDMI cable from my dvr to the other HDMI 2.1 port on the XR8B for live sports at 120Hz? Thanks, Jim
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for contacting Sony, JimB. The BRAVIA 8 has HDMI 2.1 ports that are designed to handle high-bandwidth signals like 4K@60Hz. For audio, you can simply connect the TV to your Onkyo receiver using a single HDMI cable from the BRAVIA 8's eARC/ARC port. This will allow the TV to send the high-quality audio from all your connected devices back to your receiver to be processed. This setup will allow you to enjoy a stunning picture on the BRAVIA 8 while continuing to use your Onkyo AVR for its high-quality audio capabilities. Thank you again for your interest in Sony products! Best regards, Gus, Sony Social Media Team
