VRR will be coming via a future firmware update. Unfortunately, this TV doesn't feature Cognitive Processor XR, as it’s only available on X90J series and up. • Questionglare protection?

    Asked by klinker1.

    • Answer Hello klinker1, Thank you so much for your inquiry! The X85J includes a Light Sensor that optimizes picture brightness to room conditions, boosting brightness in light rooms and reducing it to dark ones so you get the perfect view. Our unique ambient optimization technology with a light sensor automatically adjusts pictures and sound to your environment. With an Object-based HDR remaster, the color in individual objects on-screen is analyzed and the contrast adjusted, unlike most TVs where contrast is only adjusted along one black-to-white contrast curve. Because objects are remastered individually, this TV can reproduce greater depth, textures, and more realistic pictures. Also, you can configure various settings related to the TV display such as color and brightness for picture quality, or screen size. To access the settings, on the remote control, press the gear (Quick Settings) button, then select Settings → Display & Sound → Picture → the desired option. If the TV that features an X-Anti Reflection (makes pictures much clearer with less light reflection) is your priority, then we recommend the 75" and 85" X95J. With the BRAVIA XR X95J, 4K HDR has never felt more real, with true-to-life contrast and enhanced viewing angles, powered by the all-new Cognitive Processor XR™. Full-Array LED enhanced by XR Contrast Booster 10 delivers an ultra-realistic picture with deep, detailed blacks and refined peak brightness. See an amazing picture from anywhere in the room with X-Wide Angle and X-Anti Reflection technologies. I hope you find this information to be helpful! - Romeo

  • QuestionHow much do this television way and what’s the best bracket to use https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-85-class-x85j-series-led-4k-uhd-smart-google-tv/6453209.p?skuId=6453209

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi there! Thank you so much for your question. If you are asking about the weight of the 85" X85J, please refer to the below: WEIGHT OF PACKAGE CARTON (GROSS) - 132.2 lb (60 kg) WEIGHT OF TV WITHOUT STAND - 98.1 lb (44.5 kg) For wall mount bracket, unfortunately, Sony doesn't have a recommended Wall-Mount Bracket model for the 85" X85J. However, when wall mounting the TV, we always recommend using a Vesa compliant wall mount bracket with Vesa Hole pitch 15 3/4" x 15 3/4" (400 x 400 mm) to this TV. The wall mount bracket should also be able to hold the TV weight to avoid any issues. For safety reasons, product protection, and to make sure that the installation is performed correctly, Sony strongly recommends that the installation of our TV on a wall be performed by qualified professionals. I hope this helps! Thanks again for considering Sony! - Romeo

  • QuestionThe X85J has TRILUMINOS pro & X91J has just TRILUMINOS so does the X85J have better colors? How many & which HDMI ports have 2.1? Does both the X85J & X91J upscale dvd & blu ray content when using a Sony 4k player?

    Asked by AntiLiberal.

    • Answer Hi AntiLiberal, The TRILUMINOS™ Display TRILUMINOS PRO™ are great color enhancement features of your Bravia TVs. The TRILUMINOS display from X91J, which is powered by our X1 processors, reproduces more colors than conventional television and it analyzes and processes data in every image to make colors even more natural and precise so pictures are closer than ever to real life. Our X85J has the unique TRILUMINOS PRO algorithm that can detect color from saturation, hue, and brightness to reproduce natural shades in every detail. Both of these Bravia TVs support 4K120/eARC/VRR3/ALLM, features that are specified in HDMI 2.1 on HDMI 3 and 4 ports. VRR for both TVs and ALLM for X85J will be available via a future firmware update. They both have 4K X-Reality™ PRO, a feature that is excellent in upscaling images filmed in 2K and even Full HD to near-4K resolution. • QuestionI have the 2018 85 inch X850F. Is this an upgrade? The X91J cost $300 more than the X85J but is it overall better? What's the difference between Motionflow XR 960 & X-Motion Clarity 120?

    Asked by AntiLiberal.

    • Answer Hello AntiLiberal, Our Bravia X91J 2021 model is definitely an upgrade from the 2018 model X850F. X91J and X85J are great TVs. The Motionflow™ XR innovative technology feature that creates and inserts extra frames between the original ones. It compares key visual factors on successive frames, then calculates the split second of missing action in the sequences. Our X-Motion Clarity™ technology, on the other hand, keeps everything smooth, bright, and clear. Each ‘blink’ is individually controlled, and its duration optimized, while brightness is boosted when needed, so you won’t miss a thing.
