Is there a wire connecting these two speakers together? I want to place one speaker on each side of a room - one speaker next to my Mom's chair and one speaker next to my Dad's chair so they can each hear the TV; can that be done with these speakers without runnning a wire to each speaker? I purchased a Rocketfish set of speakers that were "wireless" but they were connected together by a wire and had to be placed together. If I can't do this with these speakers, do you have suggestions for which speakers I should purchase?”

The Socket Speaker Package can be paired with compatible S-AIR™ Digital Wireless transmitters to stream your favorite music to another room in your home. The Sony® Socket Speaker Package is compatible with all SAIR enabled Sony A/V receivers and home theater systems, making it easy to enjoy music playing on your system in another room of the house. There are not connected by a wire, however these speaker cannot be paired with the Televisions.

I bought a Blu-Ray disc player/home theater package that has the S-Air feature. These will work with all different S-Air capable head units, like the iPod docking station or alarm clock radio devices. No wires. These just plug into a household 110/120VAC receptacle. You can un plug, then move to another receptacle within range and it only takes them a few seconds to re-connect to the broadcast unit. I've noticed I can put them in most of the rooms of my house, which is going through a couple walls and about 2500sq. ft. I tried to put them out front washing the car, and they didn't quite reach that far from the back of the house where the head unit is. As long as you have receptacles by the two chairs, you can use these how you want. You may want to try and audition a couple in the Best Buy store to see if they will be loud enough for your tastes. To me, they are ideal for in the bathroom or kitchen.
