QuestionCan you rewind to any point then resume playing?Someone in the lecture hall said that you cannot just rewind the last 3 seconds and then continue play - (re-listen to the last 3 seconds). One has to rewind to the beginning of the recording and proceed from there ? P.S. - I've not purchased mine yet.

- Answer The unit has a review/fast backward button and a cue/fast forward button. These buttons enable you to go backward or forward during your playback to any place in your recording that you desire, and then continue to play from that point. You do not have to "rewind" (remember that this is a digital recording) to the beginning of the recording.

QuestionIs it compatible with win 8.1?My Sony Recorder ICD-PX720 is not compatible with win 8.1 and there are no drivers available that I can download. Before I buy a new recorder I want to make sure the software functions on win 8.1

QuestionI need to be able to sync. audio to video on iMovie..Will this recorder provide a straight-foreword solution to synchronizing audio to my drone video using iMovie on my Mac, or would I really need a patch - program ?

- Answer In short, if you are only using i-Movie to put the files together, this is not the recorder for you. i-Movie isn't the best tool for synching your video and audio that have no direct relationship to each other. You would be better served using Final Cut Pro.

- Answer I have recorded calls where I was on speaker and just had the device near the phone. Check your state laws to make sure you are violating wire tapping laws.

- Answer If i remember correctly ,my friend has one,and he recorded music through The lic line in,with hi cut clip option to prevent distortion, and it recorded an mp3 in hifi mono. With only a tad distortion. But what u need is a portable tascam recorder, it records any formate in ultra hq sound with studio features. I have the mk07 it alows me to record one track, then play it back and over dub with it, all without a pc! About $100 uses AA batterys And has a tripod screw for tripods. I love it,comes with 2 gb micro sd card and mini to mini cable. I also use it to record vinyl records to mp3.

QuestionHow do you record with an external mic? When I plug a mic in, the recorder shows a microphone and defaults to the "audio in" function but the recording still comes from the recorder's internal mic and not the external one.

- Answer It depends on usage, but they last quite a long time. Alkalines usually go around a month for me. I tend to use rechargeables though since I am a heavy user.
