A:AnswerI've never found a DVD player that wasn't compatible with a TV. I'd say they are mostly interchangeable. You might need an additional cord, but that would probably be it.

A:AnswerYes you can. My DVD player in our TV quit and I was able to hook it up and go. Works great. I drive a truck and have it on the bunk and must add it is a tough little machine well worth the money, in fact I'd say just as good as the expensive ones. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerUse the 5 wire component cables and enable Progressive scan if your TV can use component, hdmi is not necessary with this model, the picture is very good with store bought DVDs
A:AnswerHello Annie, thank you for your message. JPEG is a playable file format compatible with the unit. For more information, check the operating instructions in the link below: https://docs.sony.com/release//DVPSR210P.pdf. - Oscar.
A:AnswerYou do not have to connect your accessory like a DVD player to your cable box. Your television may have other input sources HDMI ports or RCA cable connections. Routing the DVD player through a cable box is not a tradiitonal choice. If you do like the Sony reply indicated...make sure the cable box is on and tuned to the DVD player through a channel assigned in the cable box options. Make things easier by conencting the DVD player to the television and not the cable box.
