A stable internet connection is needed while setting up Sony OTC hearing aids using the Sony | Hearing Control app. After setup, internet is needed for fine tuning adjustments made within the Sony | Hearing Control app. Volume control and sound balance changes can be made without internet connection. - Answer Hi, Len! Thanks for your great question! Sony CRE-E10 OTC hearing aids have the ability to stream phone calls to iPhones with operating system iOS 13 and higher. The phone calls stream into the Sony hearing aids, but you will still need to talk into the phone's microphone for the other person to hear you, as the Sony CRE-E10 OTC hearing aids do not offer hands-free calling at this time. It may be helpful to find an in-network hearing care provider that dispenses the Sony OTC hearing aids. Please check with your insurance provider to determine coverage and reimbursement for devices purchased in-network vs out-of-network. Make sure to mention that this is an OTC (over-the-counter) hearing aid. Erin
