QuestionWhen we first got it we could hook up our computer to the HDMI and into our projector. Now, when we try it flashes on and off. It doesn't matter what computer we use. Is there something we can do, or does it need to be replaced? It's been less than a year

- Answer I know how to hook it up. And my laptop used to work on it. But now when it is plugged in it flashes on the screen and then off. Same with my iMac. Is this a defect in the receiver that needs to be fixed or is there some other solution?

QuestionWhat is the RMS rating in 8 ohms on each channel for the front speaker Obviously the 135W pertains to some obscure peak or other rating nonsense rating. At this price point we are thinking the RMS rating at 8 ohms is on the order of 60W - 80W.

- Answer So I was right then. It is about 68W at 8 ohms If you do the math 6ohms/8ohms X 90w = 68W roughly

QuestionWhat is the best way to connect a hdmi splitter to the Sony STR-DH 590 receiver? Currently have TV out ARC from receiver to input on HDMI splitter and 2 different TVs in output 1 & 2. Works great for the video but no audio on TV 2 located outside of RV.

QuestionHi, so I bought a set of 100 watt per channel (5 speakers) with an impedance of 4 ohms. I cannot find another receiver even close to that other than this one. The 145 watt per channel is perfect, but can I run 4 ohm speakers on this minimum 6 ohm avr?

- Answer Hi Victor, Thank you for the interest! We recommend connecting wired speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. Lower than 6 or higher than 16 will not work with this AV receiver. We also recommend using speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge. These are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver Regards, David

QuestionWill this receiver be compatible with my speakers? I attached the photo of the specifications of my speaker. I have two of those on each side of my tv. I just want to be sure that there won’t be any problems if I use this.

- Answer not sure but I have a sony subwoofer which comes with a specific plug not a speaker wire that comes with a specific plug that attaches to the receiver

QuestionI have a 2008 SONY BRAVIA HD TV, The TV only has two HDMI Inputs, but are not labeled ARC. If I connect all my devices via HDMI will the ARC OUT on the RECEIVER work with any of the HDMI in the TV? The TV does has coaxial connection.

QuestionI connected my Apple 4K TV through the receiver but it won’t output in 4K 60hz, only 30hz. The hdmi cable I am using is correct as it works in 4K 60hz when it’s directly connected to the tv. The directions state that it should work. Help!

- Answer There are RCA inputs, but none that are labeled for Phono. It is my understanding that the only way an old turntable would work is if it has a pre-amp. If the turntable has it's own speakers, it probably has a built-in preamp. Not all turntables will work with it unless you add some type of amp between them.

- Answer Yes you can use wired speakers. In fact, only the subwoofer requires a cable. I have front, center and surround speakers hooked to mine and they're all wired. Hope this helps.
