Q: QuestionIs it possible to purchase a DVR or "main frame" only without the cameras ? I have an 8 camera Swann system that was purchased 2 or 3 years ago that is no longer App supported for remote monitoring. I have tried un-installing and re-installing the App .

Q: QuestionOn this security set up what is the size of the box that is connected inside the house? trying to fit in a cupboard internet box .....length width and height thanks Janet Frank

• A:Answer 8 inches deep, 2 inches tall, 9 inches across. I have mine in the kitchen cabinet above the fridge. You must allow for wires in the back of the NVR. Wires take up extra 2 inches in the back of NVR. NVR is 10 inches deep with CAT5 wires.

Q: QuestionWhy can you use cat5e and cat6e but not cat6? Cat6 is cattery but better.

• A:Answer The swann answer is wrong... this is an nvr system so it does NOT and cannot use BNC cables. It comes with Cat5e Ethernet Cable (60ft / 18m). Shame on swann, Generally you don’t want to go longer than 100ft with PoE cameras unless you have an external power injector somewhere down the line.

Q: QuestionCan I wire my own Cat6 cables to a patch panel first, then run a short patch cable to the NVR and still get PoE? I am wiring new construction, and can specify.
