“Do you need to purchase a separate "hub", or does the DVR box act as hub. Looking at a diagram, it looks like you need to buy something else in order for the door sensor and outdoor alarm to even function.”

• The DVR acts as the HUB. However, I found it to be terrible for that purpose and am getting a Smart Things hub.

• The DVR will function as a wireless hub for the other security devices. It did not conflict with my current wireless network the 2 function separately but it works very well. I did have to plug the FOR into my network with a hardwire Ethernet connection
