QuestionWhat kind of license does this require to operate in California? I see two different answers in this Q/A section. I am specifically looking at the "MAXX eMoped" with the max speed of 19.8mph.

- Answer M1/M2 license is needed in California. It also is not legal for most bike trails unfortunately. In Orange County, only electric bicycles with pedals are allowed. Source: the ticket I got from the OC sheriff who was patrolling the Santa Ana River Trail and the local DMV office. They can be ridden on streets in gutter or bike lanes, but not trails for dedicated bikes in OC (at least the county ones anyway, any cities which have their own bike trails may differ such as Irvine or Tustin, or any South County cities).

QuestionI purchased two of the bikes and both have little to no brakes on the left side… why is that?

- Answer The left side is the rear brake which is also a drum brake. Typically most of the stopping is done with the front brake which is a disc brake. You can adjust the left brake where the linkage is at the rear drum. I caution against adjusting too much as this may lock up the rear wheel in certain braking instances and cause the scooter to fishtail.

- Answer Just go to the DMV and ask that's how I got my answer I didn't even have to wait in line all I did was make it seem like I was already in there by walking directly in and I got near an employee as I grabbed the drivers pamphlet and the motorcycle one you know just to make it look like I was officially waiting for them and I just asked hey buddy or hey mister I have a question if you don't mind just a quick one and then I let him know my bike only goes 20 miles per hour and it is an electric bike did I need to get a registration or anything to that effect they told me no because it is considered a bicycle that just to wear a helmet

- Answer Hi there. The MAXX has a built in headlight with optional high-beams, and tail lights and brake lights. Currently, the battery is not removable for charging, but we have heard our customers and will keep this in mind as we continue to evolve our products!
