QuestionCan't get surround from optical audio out. Tried every setting and can only get 2 channel from the optical audio output. I know the TV is the issue as my old TV had no issues passing surround sound through optical audio.

- Answer This shouldn't be a problem. The optical audio out port from our TVs will only send what it gets. If the content is stereo it will out put stereo. It would be up to the receiver to up convert the stereo content to surround sound content up the the limits of the receivers encoder. If surround sound content is playing and the AVR is set up correctly, but you are still only getting stereo PCM, please reach out to us at [email protected] with your contact information and a description of what you need help with. QuestionDoes this tv support 5.1 channel surround sound? I've tried everything possible and can only get stereo PCM out of this TV. Whether it's apps, live tv, PlayStation or a blu-ray player I get nothing but stereo even though the TV is set to pass thru. Optica

- Answer Answering my own question here. The answer is no. This TV will not process anything but stereo PCM. I've tried everything humanly possible including reaching out to TCL support. My content is Dolby digital but this TV will not output anything but stereo over optical or ARC or eARC. TCL needs to update the TV.
