A:Answer If connected to a switched power source, it will come on when you start your vehicle. Mine is connected to one of my cigarette lighter plugs.
The regular footage will continue to over-write itself when storage is full. The camera has numerous storage folders, which are self contained within the memory card. Any "incidents" recorded by the camera (including manual activation) are stored in separate folders until you delete them. How long until full depends upon the size of your memory card. I drive across a large dip in the road every day, and my camera records the event as an "incident" because it jars the camera. A stored "incident" is only 42MB. If I manually activate the camera, the file is 82MB. I haven't seen any files larger than that. So, if you have a 16GB chip, about half (8GB) is reserved for regular footage and the other folders are about 2GB. So you could manually activate the camera about 20 times before your chip would fill up.
