While on parking mode it records impacts and has motion detection also. Recording depends on the type of situation impact, continuous or parking but can be tweaked through the settings on the app. Footage is automatically recorded on a SD card but keep in mind the camera loops so it records over the oldest video of low on memory. If you have a video you want for proof you can save it to your phone directly through the app. If your car has Wi-Fi built in or if using Hotspot from your mobile device you can also save your videos through the cloud service.
