• Yes. It works fine. We have not been able to get the remote to work on our TV.

• Yes you can do it all manually using the remote.......whatever you record with a "SKIP" highlighted next it means you can depress the GREEN SKIP button......if it doesn't then simply use the fast forward or fast backwards buttons. You'll get the hang of it.
