A:AnswerI'm not sure but my guess would be that internet is required because you use the program guide to schedule recordings and it needs the internet to keep the guide updated.
A:AnswerBuying the device is it’s own cost. The antenna in order to get on air channels is it’s own cost. The TiVo service is available in various cost options, and you can make a one time payment of like $250 for unlimited access... no other costs... but I didn’t have the up front amount available, so I’m going with the $8 a month option.
A:AnswerI believe that tivo got rid of the 4 tuner version for OTA as fas as I can tell (unless this is old stock). Description and details contradict themselves. Yeah, 2 tuners is not nearly enough because a lot of shows come on prime time around the same time. I currently have a 4 tuner tivo and every once in a while 4 tuners isn't even enough (especially if you want to channel surf while it's recording). 500GB is a joke too. That's what I had in mine initially but was too much of a headache so upgraded to a 5TB drive (don't know what the upgrade involves with this unit). Not sure if I would buy this anyway at this point in time because ATSC 3.0 is starting to come out and this thing lacks the capability. They were advertising a USB plug-in adapter to make this thing future proof but that vanished too. Don't know what's going on with tivo the.last couple of years, think they changed ownership or something.
