The 55 inch version of the 2021 model has an IPS-like panel with wider viewing angles than the 2020 model, which has a better contrast. However, it's possible some of the sizes of the 2021 model also have VA panels. Other than that, the 2021 model is worse in a few ways because it doesn't get as bright and it has issues upscaling lower-resolution content, but it does a better job at displaying native 4k content.

Say you’re watching a movie , look at your remote, click the settings button that is at the bottom of the remote next to the mute button it will bring up a menu to the right of your screen , scroll down to picture. On the picture mode select it Will say standard movie dynamic natural or custom click one of them and then go back and you can adjust the backlight the contrast the brightness the color you’re just gonna have to play with it to see which one does better

A:AnswerYes.. that's the first thing I did. With it enabled the video was worse! It was like a slideshow with mpeg noise in it. Not my favorite TV. No wonder it was on sale.
If I didn't open the remote to cut the pc board etch that leads to the microphone, I would have returned it.
A:AnswerWhile it's easy to hook this TV up to a spectrum set top box, I suspect your question may have actually been about whether the spectrum app is supported (which allows you to watch Spectrum TV without a set-top box.) Unfortunately, the app currently supports only Samsung, which to me is horrifically short-sighted of spectrum. Luckily, I already had it installed on my Sharp Roku TV so it continues to work there, but I can't download it for my new Toshiba.
