Hey there! Great question — and an important one for anyone planning that deep-fried turkey feast. The MEATER Plus should not be used while deep frying. Here’s why: the probe’s internal and ambient sensors are rated up to around 527°F, but deep-frying oil can easily exceed that, especially near the surface or pot walls. Submerging the probe or bamboo charging block in oil can permanently damage it. The MEATER Plus is perfect for grilling, smoking, roasting, and air frying, but it’s not designed for use in hot oil or any liquid. For deep frying, you’ll want a dedicated deep-fry thermometer that’s rated for full oil immersion and high-heat conditions (350–400°F). So, short answer — no, don’t leave it in the turkey while frying. Keep your MEATER Plus for the smoker or oven, and grab a fry-safe thermometer for that crispy holiday bird.
