Yes, these are over the ear and isolates the sound effectively.

I just bought this headset about a month or so ago and it's very comfortable. I went from a Turtle Beach DPX21 (wired) where the ear cups pressed against my ears, which made it uncomfortable after a while. I also wear glasses, so imagine how uncomfortable that can get. The Stealth 500P has larger cups that fit around your ears, making it much more comfortable.
