It will NOT mess with your controller. This headset has a USB and optical transmitter that plugs directly into your Xbox, not your controller.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe you are ok. the headset links up to controller via wireless signal. The transmitter/receiver links up to XBOX 1 via usb and optical cable. Best buy has a good return policy so try them out if any problems you can return them. The headset is worth the money. Works well for gaming and has great sound to watch movies also.
