QuestionI have a 4 years old LG google TV however when i go to app store to download HDHomeRun app it is not there. Only some kind HDHomeRun signal mete. I have an app on my latop and other mobile devices however i want to watch on my TV. How?

- Answer It is not supported on your TV.. You need a media server or client such as Plex, MythTV running on a computer or the HDHomerun plugin/addon that runs on a home NAS box from companies such as Qnap or Synology. It is a networked tuner that provides 2-4 (depending on model) networked data streams to a media server.. I use Plex running on a Linux server as my DVR using 2 HDHomerun devices for a total of 4 channels. Plex runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and a number of NAS machines and provides a DLNA media services that many TV and Bluray/DVD machines can use. Plex also has apps that can be installed on many TV and Bluray boxes that can connect to the HDHomerun devices.. Many options..

- Answer No.. not directly.. It is a networked TV Tuner streaming device.. not a dvr or recorder. you need to use the HDHomerun DVR software or some other media server package such as Plex or MythTV. I use Plex.

QuestionDoes this device allow analog CC pass-thru so that my TV can decode and display closed captioning? I do not use digital CC. Analog CC is only closed captioning used by some channels, while many channels use both analog CC and digital CC in broadcast.

- Answer How many channels it gets depends on the antenna and location of your over the air signals. If you go to Antennaweb.org and enter your location it will help you determine the channels you get. I get around 35 in my location. No more cable bills if you can live without channels that are not on the internet for free or over the air. You can also add IPTV like Slingtv or Playstiation Vue to your internet along with a cheap Roku or most streaming devices and get a lot of what cable offers.

- Answer Roku does not support Live TV formats required. We have been asking them to support for some time now. Plex has a Roku channel, so if you use HDHomeRun with Plex you can use via Roku. https://www.silicondust.com/support/faq/#can-i-use-hdhomerun-with-my-roku-box

QuestionCan you use this with DirecTV now, Hulu live, Sling or any IPTV app to record & pause streaming movies and TV shows and view on your televisions. I have an HD ota antenna. Streaming company dont offer local broadcast tv in my area.

- Answer this is not a set top box. You will need some sort of smart devices (PC Mac Xbox Playstation android TV apple TV) to be able to use this. The DVR service is extra per year and does include the guide service. if you want to be able to access your recordings you would want to use a service like PLEX or EMBY or have a media server set up.

- Answer As long as the OTA broadcast are in NTSC and not PAL I do not see a reason it would not work.

- Answer The community answers here are all pretty correct. In particular, you can string ethernet cables a long ways without any loss of signal or you could consider invest in a mesh system like Google Wifi offers, which will give you the double benefit of improving your wifi throughout the house and allowing you to put your HDHomeRun CONNECT DUO wherever you like.

QuestionMy brother has no computer, no internet, no smart TV, no smart phones, no wireless router. He would not likely subscribe to anything. Will this device stream his local antenna signal to his smart TV wirelessly?

- Answer No. This product would have to plug into a wireless router in order to stream to any other device wirelessly. You would also have to have software on TV that can control the box and I believe most of the HD Homerun compatible software is designed for a streaming device (i.e. Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Xbox, etc).

QuestionHad SIMPLE TV box... with this new one can I watch my LIVE TV anywhere or just on devices in my home. Have great antenna reception at my work and was using my ROKU at home to watch LIVE TV or remotely on my cell . Can I still do that with this device?

- Answer You can watch in home on any pc/ iPad type device Xbox one too. I use plex.tv as a dvr and it allows access out of the building. So answer is no unless using 3rd party software
