QuestionI am used the VIDBOX for Mac to convert a few camcorder tapes. The first two worked great, but for some reason the third converted audio only. The MP4 appears, but no video. I tried re-recording, but no luck. I am not sure what happened.

- Answer Some customers have reported encoding issues if the video signal is not being fully available for the full recording. To mitigate this issue, please make sure that that video content is playing before clicking the Record button in the app. You may also need to try designating a different Save Location as issues with where it is saving to can also create issues in the recording.

QuestionHi, I just purchased VidBox and am running on a Mac. I have it working but I noticed that the output file has slight pauses/freezes in the recording. If I connect the VCR to the TV it plays smoothly. So the VCR and tape seem fine. Ideas on how to resolve?

- Answer Maybe the tape is defective somehow . It happened to me once and my tape was older.

- Answer The same thing happened to me. Try this - if you have a PC, right click on the Vidbox icon. Click on Properties Choose the "Compatibility" tab Look for the "Settings" section, and click on the drop down menu (it may currently say 16-bit (65536) color) Choose a lower setting (might say 8-bit) This worked like a charm and I can watch the video as it records in the preview window on Vidbox. If you have a Mac, you're still trying to change the same setting. I'm sure there's a similar way to adjust it.

QuestionDoes this do 8 mm and Super 8 movies to discs? Is it difficult to do?

- Answer I don't think so. I believe this is only a video TAPE to digital system, not a FILM to digital system. You would first need to have your film transferred to videotape, then you could use this product to transfer those tapes to computer - but you might be just as well off having your film transferred directly to digital.

- Answer Not sure, I set recording time to max 3 hours and check the recording on PC to see when it is done then stop recording. Trial and error testing may answer your question or call support number listed on back page of quick start guide US 1-877-484-6246.

- Answer Yes you can. The conversion kit is easy to use and it takes no time at all. I actually had to purchase a VCR though. I trashed mine years ago thinking I would never need it again.

- Answer The easiest way is to use a VHS player that has a counter that shows the duration of tape playback. You can basically start with your rewound tape in the VHS player and the counter zeroed out at 00:00:00 (not negative numbers which can be possible). Then fast forward the tape to the end of the playable content to note the total runtime. Then you can rewind the tape and set the appropriate Recording Time.
