• tv screens are measured diagonally so a 50" is corner to corner and won't change in size from brand to brand

• This TV has settings for the scale. You can make it auto (recommended) and it reshapes itself based on the input) or you can manually set it to the mode you want. Download the user manual from the VIZIO web site for more detailed information.
