Yes, there is a remote that comes with the display. Also your Direct TV remote should be able to control the TV as my TWC does, but this display does not have Apps installed on it. You need to use the casting feature to cast apps from a phone/laptop/tablet to the display.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This model does have a remote though it is only capable of very basic functions. There is no menu in the TV (you use your smart device to "Cast" to the TV like you would to a Chromecast in order to stream videos from apps) so no, your direct TV remote will not be able to control the apps. (Because the display doesn't have any apps in it, it's basically a giant Chromecast built into a TV)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has one, but it is so pathetic and non functional. You must use your personal device as a remote and if you are lucky it will work for you. No one provides the apps, you provide them yourself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for a great question on our SmartCast™ E55u-D2! This display does include a remote control for basic power, volume, and input selection. However, to access apps on the display itself, they are actually Casted from your paired iOS or Android smartphone or tablet, so you can access hundreds of apps through Google Cast. As for your DirecTV apps, they would be controlled by your DirecTV remote, as always. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to our Support team at 844.254.8088.
