The directions for mounting the "feet" on the TV call for it to be lain flat on its screen on top of a table with soft material on top of it. That said, that's a lot of screen area, and I wouldn't make a habit of it by any means. I know it must be transported upright.

Upon getting the Television home and looking at the owners Manual from Vizio, the actually instruction you to do so provided you lay it on it's back to perform various tasks. So in short, it really depends who you listen to, But I have installed quite a few different Models and have had to lay them down frequently for various reasons, never any problem.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You might be able to, but it would block the design of how the TV cools itself. I would not recommend laying it flat as all the heat would rise to the front screen.
