QuestionWe have a Comcast connection with 2 phone lines integrated into one jack/cord - can this phone be set up to handle line 1 & 2 independently through one jack or do they need to be dedicated to each phone number (2 jacks)?

- Answer Hi - Yes, the VTech CM18445 is capable of 2 lines coming from one telephone jack. The unit has L1/L2 line port at the back where you can install the 2 lines coming from the same jack. Thank you

You can get additional expansion handsets/desksets and set up the auto attendant feature for your callers to select which company they would like to reach. QuestionIs there a way to keep the answering machine turned on without having the default announcement come through the speaker? None of the volume adjustments allow this. I can turn off the ringer volume to zero but the default announcement is still heard.

QuestionWe're a small business with 4 ph. lines with 1 of them bring the fax line. They all currently come through 1 line which is in the photo and the VTech-CM18445 has 4 individual outlets for the lines. How may I convert our current line to fit the new phone?

QuestionEvery time we try to make a call on the vTech CM18045 handset, the person on the other line cannot hear us. We have to put it on speaker in order for them to hear. Is there a way to change that?

- Answer Sam - We are sorry if you are experiencing issues with your VTech CM18045. If you are unable to hear on the handset, try moving closer to the base. The range can affect the audio on the handset. Also make sure that the volume is up on the handset. If nothing's changed after the steps were performed, you may try resetting by unplugging the AC adapter and batteries for 2-3 minutes. Re-plug and test. - Answer Hello - The extension units compatible with the CM18445 has a private mailbox that can answer calls and record messages when the auto attendant and the private mailbox are turned on. The compatible extension phones for the console are the models CM18245 and CM18045. QuestionMy phone does not allow the person leaving a message to be heard at the time given. Machine does record and am able to see that someone has left a message by number showing how many and am able to hear it later but not able to hear it at time of recording

- Answer Hello - The CM18445 has a call screening setting that will enable you to hear the actual message while it is being recorded. Here's how you can turn on the said feature. 1. Press the MENU/SELECT button when the phone is not in use. 2. Press the arrow down button to scroll to Ans sys setup, then press the MENU/SELECT button. 3. Press the arrow down button to scroll to Call screening, then press the MENU/SELECT button. 4. Press the arrow down button to scroll ON, then press the MENU/SELECT button. Thank you, -VTech Support
