A:Answer I own this hard drive, and if it is encrypted, it is not noticeable. All of my Windows programs work fine with it. All hard drive data must be converted from its' storage format to the normal computer data format to allow it to be used but this is not actually encrypted data. I have been able to test this drive using Windows hard drive commands and so it is unlikely that any encrypting of data is being done. Normally, encrypting requires software, on your computer, to allow you to access the encrypted data, and I have found that I do not need any special software to use this drive.
