Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is enough storage space on this that you can copy over/ backup the entirety of the contents of your laptop. The manufacturer (WD/ Western Digital) even has a program that can help you do it that comes preloaded onto the drive. You just have to install it (The program, not the drive. If you are using a windows pc the drive should be usable as soon as you plug it in). Otherwise, you can just drag and drop files onto it at your leisure or save downloads and new files directly to it so long as it is plugged in and you select it as the destination.
