• A:Answer XP should be no problem. Format the drive FAT or FAT32 and it will work with DOS on up. I'm using one on WIN 10 and MAC OSX.

• A:Answer It must be plugged into the 3.0 slot on the left. Also plug it in while the system is completely shut down. Boot it up and look at the storage under settings. I believe it asks to use the device one time as extra storage, just say yes.
