- Answer you would need a usb 3 micro to iphone cord, that is all. You have to download an app to move stuff from your internal memory to external. I suggest plugging both into your computer, at which point it will be obvious how to do, drag and drop.

- Answer Googe "WD clicking sound" - I found that my USB extension didn't have enough power. But, usually when I hear that sound, I make sure every thing is backed up as worst case scenario, the Hard Drive is about to have issues or go out. And usually I just end up replacing it if I can't get the sound to stop.

- Answer you do the partitioning from your BIOS. You can also download partitioning software free online (easier option).

QuestionI need to get my recordings off a Dish Hopper w/sling. Will this work? It needs to be between 50 GB to 2 TB, have it's own power supply, be a single disk drive (flash memory not compatible).

- Answer It is a single hard drive, but it pulls power over the USB. Not sure if the device you are connecting to will supply enough power. If you have a very low power USB jack, I suppose this may not function. You can get external enclosures that have external power supplies, but that makes them less portable so they are less common as an all in one portable drive. You may need to buy a separate drive and enclosure so you can ensure you get what you need.

QuestionDoes this 2TB drive work with Windows XP on a HP Pavilion a1620n computer? I need to know for certain. I bought the 1TB from WD that was recommend. It did not work with Windows XP when I plugged it into the USB2.0 port. The drive was not recognized.
