Yes, you will lose everything if your My Cloud crashes (after all it's a hard drive)....you can add a portable hard drive to back up your cloud just in case something happens to your WD My Cloud
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you will lose your data unless you have configured a backup drive which could be hooked on to mycloud drive
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends..... how did it break? What I am getting at is if the enclosure broke then you will more than likely be able to get the drive out of it and still recover your files. If the drives have gone bad then you will probably not be able to recover your files. There are however some tricks to getting files off of a HDD that is on its last leg. Hope this helps :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you will not lose your files if you create a safepoint.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To guarantee that you will not lose anything if the drive dies, just have a second drive that the first drive backs up to on a daily basis. Real simple to set up. If one of the drives go bad, replace it with a good one, restore from the other drive, and you will once again be protected. I've already had to do that, and it worked like a charm.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, the answer is yes and you would need to have a firm that specializes if recovery try to recover your data. It is no different than backing up on CD or DVD and then someone scratches the CD or DVD. Or if you had a second wired hard drive and it crashes. Redundancy with another device helps to alleviate this. Many business perform redundant or incremental updates to redundant devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you would loose all files on your cloud. I suggest you find a secondary back up. Like dropbox. Just to be safe.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't know your product, but I've had a recent experience with a desktop storage device, on which I had many file accumulated over a period of years. Of course, I wasn't ready by no means, although I did have some back up copies of some of my files, but no all. I was definitely in panic mode. However, I was able to get in touch with the product manufacturer and received the help I needed. It cost me $100.00, but it was worth it. I was able to re capture all of my important files, and some I forgot I had. In the interim, I purchased an much larger capacity unit and upgraded my system. By the way too, tiles I had stored were pc based files using MS Windows XP and I needed them to acclimate to an iMac format. NO PROBLEM. Was I overjoyed?,,,,, absolutely. As for your question, I don't think there would be a problem getting you files back in the event you lost you unit or connectivity with the cloud. I would think that getting in touch with either would get you files returned to you, without a hitch (other then maybe having to pay some amount of money for the service or the software.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on what's broken. If the HDD is broken there is nothing that can be relieved from there.
