A:AnswerYes it will. Even if it's not the version that says "Mac" compatible, you can format the drive via Disk Utilities and it will work perfectly fine. It will literally take 5 mins and there are more detailed instructions available online if you need some help.
A:AnswerIt’s super easy to set up the password. All you do is run the WD Security software, input the password and then locking will be enabled. This can be performed before or after moving data to the drive which is awesome as well. Also when the drive is locked, the security software is stored on a small virtual “disk” so whenever you plug the drive into a computer, there is nothing else to download. You just run the software, input the password, and you’re good to go.
A:AnswerYes, but you have to drag and drop the files. You cannot do a carbon copy of your computer on this. Also, installed programs will not transfer.
A:AnswerOpen a window for your portable hard drive using your File Explorer.
Easiest usual way is to DRAG into that window the item you want to transfer (copy to the HD).
SOMETIMES, when the item you want to transfer is very large, windows chooses to create a DIRECT ACCESS to the item, instead of COPYING it. The way around is to click right mouse over your item and select COPY. Then go to the window of the portable drive, and right-click PASTE.
Cheers
A:AnswerNot sure, tried it on my router with the USB port then brought the router up on my laptop so without some way to actually find the router and access it it's hard to say.
