QuestionI have an iMac with El Captain version 10.11.4. Will My Passport for Mac work with my system? The literature that comes with the Passport does not mention El Captain. Thanks, Best Regards.

- Answer Yes, I have a MacBook Pro running El Capitan Version 10.11.4 (15E65) and it works great. I created two partitions on the drive and use one for a Time Machine backup while the other stores my Photos and iTunes library. The drive itself is very small and quiet. Highly recommended.

QuestionI purchased this item, and I've only been able to download my photos from my iPad. Is this drive only for photos, movies, and music, or can I save my documents and PDF files to this drive as well?

- Answer You can store anything on this hard drive that has the ability to be copied and pasted, which means that you can save documents and PDF files in addition to photos, movies, music, etc.

QuestionI have a MacbookPro and plan on using this mainly for that, but also have samsung that I need to save all it memory as well onto this WD that says its fro a Mac. Can I do this for both a samsung and Macbook Pro?

- Answer You can only use it exclusively for a Mac or exclusively for windows. Otherwise you'll have to reformat it and you'll lose all your files.

QuestionWill this be compatible with mac newest Sierra? Had problems with backing up lately, messages " not connected". Then updated to ElCapitan 10.11.6 and time machine doesn't recognize drive. Either my drive "died" of old age or incompatibility problems.
