• Yes, I have a MacBook Pro running El Capitan Version 10.11.4 (15E65) and it works great. I created two partitions on the drive and use one for a Time Machine backup while the other stores my Photos and iTunes library. The drive itself is very small and quiet. Highly recommended.

• You are Correct; the literature does not mention El Captain. But, Yes it does work with El Captain. I have a MacBook Air, (March 2016 new version with El Captain) and the WD Passport works just fine. Definitely get the WD Passport that is preformatted for Mac!

• Yes, I have a Mac with OS X El Capitan and it works just fine.
