QuestionI want to use this as Time Machine backup on a Mac. The item description says that reformatting is required to use with a Mac. What is involved in reformatting this drive?

- Answer You run Disk Utility. It's an app in the Utilities folder. You can find that in Finders "Go" menu. If you have trouble with Disk Utility I'm sure someone at Best Buy can give you a quick demo. You never need to install the drive maker's software. Never. If the drive comes with files, you can safely delete them. Note that reformatting deletes all files.

QuestionCan you use this to view files between a Mac and a PC. In other words, if I put files on from a PC and want to pull them up or work with them on a Mac will that work?

- Answer You can but I would suggest buying an enclosure and a standard SSD - I had this hooked up and it froze a lot and the transfer speeds are faster than OEM platter drive inside the xbox but lower than a standard SSD/enclosure combo. I bought this as the result of an article online that specifically listed this drive as their choice for the xbox - the article was wrong. I didn't have the freezes that I encountered before I attached the drive and I haven't had them again since I removed it.

- Answer Yes. You can use it for the PS4 but it does come with an attached USB cable that recesses into the body of the SSD case.

QuestionI HAVE A HP COMPUTER WITH A 29 GIG HARD DRIVE. I AM ALWAYS GETTING MESSAGES THAT I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH STORAGE TO UPDATE WINDOWS 10. WILL THIS FIX THE PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS UPDATES? I DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF PICTURES OR DOCUMENTS, JUST APPS AND PROGRAMS.

- Answer Probably you have a laptop with 32GB storage, windows 10 (the upgrade to the next version 1903) needs at least 8GB of space, having the external SSD it won't fix your problem. The best solution would be (save in the external SSD all your important files) wipe out the internal storage , install the last version of Windows 10 (1903) then install all the software you use in the external SSD.

- Answer Yes, all USB 3.0 drives are backwards compatible with earlier USB connections. You won’t, however, be able to take advantage of USB 3.0 speeds without the proper port. This will function as a USB 2.0 drive.
