• A:Answer The rack is safe for microwave use. It is so you can heat two dishes at a time. However, they recommend removing it if only heating one item. That I do not really understand. I was leaving it in place when only heating on lower level and it was fine. But, when I placed a bag of popcorn on the bottom, it sparked when the paper bag inflated and touched the rack above it. Fortunately, no harm was done. Luckily it removes very easily because I really do not want to store it someplace else.

• A:Answer I don't know for a fact, but could not find information online. I think it is best you assume that it DOES include PFAS (polyfluoral alkly substances, whether they be PFOA PTFE or another of 1000s of varieties of this class of chemicals that will never break down naturally and could cause endocrine or other harm to living things. Typically things advertised as non-stick coating or waterproof all have some form of PFAS. A lot of food wrappers have this stuff!!!
