“How many amps does this refrigerator use? What is the rated amperage for this unit?”

• We bought this model in May of 2015. The "Max Amps" listed on the left interior wall says 6.5. We are running it off a standard 20 amp breaker for the kitchen, and the room lights DO NOT DIM when the compressor cycles on. When running, the refrigerator uses only about 1.0 amps (I measured it with a clamp on ammeter). It draws more current during the defrost cycle when the heater kicks on to melt the ice.
