Hey Bill 47 - Look at the control panel. Just below the keypad numbers you will see a triangle inside a box. That is the start button. To add 30 seconds to the cook time press the "+30 SEC" symbol.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The start bottom is found in the left hand corner of the key pad. It's not labeled as "Start" but, instead has boxed triangle arrow symbol just above the "light bulb" symbol (see picture). Merely punch your desired minutes and push that button. When we first got the microwave I felt it wasn't very user friendly as he user manual was not clear in my opinion; however, my wife quickly adapted to it. We now enjoy al the features. It was a good purchase for us. Hope this helps.
