Yes, absolutely. That’s exactly how I use mine. The microwave can be cooking and you can also use the non-cooking timer concurrently. That’s a feature I liked on my previous model and I made sure that this model can do the same thing. As each timer finishes (cooking timer and regular timer) a different set of tones is heard. Very cool.
