Q: QuestionThe depth of this dishwasher is described as 27 1/4 inch. However, my counter is only 24 inch deep. Why does the dishwasher not have a standard size?

• A:Answer My dishwasher is KitchenAid which looks just like this with the handle for the door. It also is 27 1/4 inches. 24" is the main part of the dishwasher and kickplate that fits perfectly under the cabinet. 1" is the door that matches flush with the 1" lip of my counter (same thickness as the cabinet doors). 2 1/4 is the curve of the handle of the door that sticks out. It fits and looks great! :-)
