Dear Valued Consumer: There are two grates on the cooktop of model WFG231LVB. One grate is over the left hand front and rear burner (one piece) and one over the right front and rear burner (one piece). The griddle is an aluminum cast. Thank you for your interest in our Whirlpool range.
