A:Answer These speakers are designed to mounted inside drywall, there are 4 little anchor clamps, similar to those used to install retro electrical boxes or mud rings. I personally would not feel comfortable installing these in ceiling tiles, the speakers are probably weigh 5 o 6 pounds each and given how soft ceiling tiles can be, I don't think you could get a good enough connection to securely hold the in place.
With that being said, if you want to put a board up behind the ceiling tile to carry the wight of the speaker, there is enough room for the bracket to fit into over an inch of material, the instructions don't see anything about it, so you would be on your own to figure out how to do it, but with the proper backing behind a ceiling tiles, these speakers will work and they sound good, especially for the price.
