• Yes this works with the gen 5 iPad. To be honest it was the only one I found that works with the new gen 5 iPad. It is awesome!!

• This is what I purchased for the new Ipad. The only notable issue and to me it's not a big deal- the volume button is a little off. The up (on the ipad) is not covered at all and the down (on the ipad) is covered by the up on the case. Other than that, it works. I purchased this instead of waiting to protect my new device asap.

• If you're referring to the new iPad 2017, then yes. I'm currently typing this answer using iPad (2017) and this Rugged Book.

• The iPad 5 is 7.5 mm depth, and the iPad Air 2 is 6.1 mm depth. I would wait for one designed for the iPad 5 specifically.
