Couldn't connect it to my Vizio SoundBarPosted .
I was snared by the price on this TV. You can't beat $499 for a 55" TV but unfortunately it didn't work for me. However, it may work for you. I'll start with the good. The price and size are great. The picture is bright and crisp, it looks amazing after having a 40" Sony Bravia for 3 years. The sound was on average for TVs these days. The remote is well laid out and the menu was easy to navigate. The internal digital antennae picked up 7 channels more than our Sony does. GAMERS** I did not experience any lag from the 120hz picture processing while playing online with FORZA or Battlefield on my XBOX ONE on a Friday night, though once I did have a large section of the screen's shading and texturing go black where there was a lot of graphic detail going on with blowing and burning debris on BF4. I only got in about 2 hours of game play before I packed the TV back up and returned it so I would need more time before I gave the TV a thumbs up for gamers. Now for the bad and why I am returning this TV. I was already overlooking the fact that it only has 2 HDMI ports but the deal breaker was that I was unable to connect my Vizio sound bar. And I tried everything. I read the manual and the troubleshooting tips, I bought a 1 Male to 2 Female RCA Adapter, I adjusted the digital sound settings from within the menu, I adjusted the settings on my sound bar and tried each variation with it plugged in both with and without the adapter. After hours of tinkering and buying an adapter I still was unable to get sound through my sound bar. On another note regarding the port section: the space is pretty cramped. Since most people will be using every port available you will need a skinny fingered accomplice. I have included pictures with my review. Before we went to pick this TV up I had spent some time reading reviews and looking for info on it. I was unable to find pictures for the back plug-in port area so I am doing you all a favor and providing them for the next researching consumer who comes along. ;)

Great picture and size for the price!Posted .
Look if you are like me and are in a tight budget and don't care for smart TV this TV has the best picture for its size at $599 price. But i must confess i bought this TV at an "open box" price of $469.99 with absolutely nothing wrong with it. Blu-Rays look amazing on it. But i mostly stream movies like netfilx form my Vizio Co-Star smart box and even that is pretty close to blu-ray quality. DirecTv hd box only out puts at 1080i 60Hz and it looks great too. I will say the sound is not so great but what do you expect from two little 8 watt speakers but if you have a sound bar or sound system who cares. Keep in mind there are only headphone jack and coaxial output no optical out or rca outputs. One other thing it not may be a big deal but there is no backlight control so you cant dim the led's if there are to bright in for a dark room.I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent Product, Poor Sound Quality.Posted .
This is my 1st LED Flat Panel TV,, Wanted a 50+ diagonal For the best price & As I have & was using a last Generation CRT 27 Diagonal Flat Screen RCA, Digital capable HDTV, Wished to Try one of Flat Paneled Models This RCA was Perfect for my/our needs only minor complaints were the connection input/output location hard to reach & were tucked back on the left side of unit, the on set controls were on the right side Side, Very Accessible, Menu Navigation was a little confusing as I am 'Old School' so took some getting used to, Picture Quality Is very Good , the factory audio System Is a Bit Less than satisfactory, But tolerable , I recently purchased a RCA RTS7010B model 30 Watt Home Theater Soundbar as A temporary Fix for better quality sound reproduction For Time being, as I Own an older But a Good quality Harmon Kardon Surround Sound Hard Wire-able Surround System , we Are Moving soon so Wish not to set up til we are in our new Residence So the Soundbar Though not the top o the line is Sufficient , Mounting , Packaging of this product is Excellent, So Far Very Satisfied & Do Recommend this set for one just under 60in, Diagonal, for A Reasonable Price.I would recommend this to a friend

Sooo disappointed!Posted .
My husband and I upgraded from a 50" RCA projection TV that we purchased 15 years ago, which was dying a slow death. We originally wanted a 60" TV, but saw a really good deal on this 55" RCA and decided to sacrifice the 5" for a savings of $350. Got home late last night with the TV, an Insignia sound bar, and a tilt mount. Dear son-in-law and daughter came over and worked til midnight to mount and install. However, when we turned the set on, there are some odd "dead" areas on the bottom of the screen (photo attached). At first we thought it was handprints, but there are no marks on the screen in those areas. So disappointed! So, I'm waiting for the store to open this morning to go exchange it. We are pleased with the picture, even when it was hooked up to our Directv non-HD box, and the sound is pretty good - I was concerned because I had seen so many negative reviews about the sound. I'll update when we get the set home, but will definitely give this TV "5" stars if the replacement set doesn't have any issues.I would recommend this to a friend

Good TV but horrible exchange policy/ servicePosted .
I purchased this TV (RCA LED55C55R120Q 1080p 120hz) from the Best Buy in Costa Mesa, CA on January, 24 2014. I got it for $499 on a 2-day doorbuster. Took it home and noticed really bad light bleed on the top left corner. This issue made the whole top left of the screen really horrible to watch. Other than this issue, the picture quality while playing a Blu-Ray on my xbox one looked amazing. I also played some Forza and Call of Duty on the xbox one. I experience no lag or distortion that other use mentioned. The sound quality is really poor but I expect bad sound quality from all HD TVs. (Most TV's now a days require a sound bar or 5.1 sound system for good audio.) The problem I have is the customer service at Best Buy. I went to swap out this TV with the exact same model at the Westminster, CA Best Buy. I waited a little while before anyone in the home theater department assisted me. Once I got someone to assist me, I told Hal (magnolia tv department guy) that my TV had really bad light bleed and that I wanted to swap it out for a new one. He told me that I either had to drive clear to the Compton, CA store to swap it out, OR I could return it, get my $500 back, and then re-buy it when they get one in stock BUT I would have to pay the difference. (currently $100 more than what I paid). He said they COULD NOT order one in for me. I told him I would have no problem waiting for the TV to come in. I find it ridiculous that they can not just return the TV and do a price over ride when another one comes in. Then he (Hal) tried to make me spend more money and buy a different TV. Again, the TV is a great deal but the customer support form Best Buy is just AWFUL. I just want a TV that has no issues. Until Best Buy can help me out, I give it a 1 star review.

Cancelled order/damaged TVPosted .
A less than positive buying experience... I've been waiting a year to finally pull the trigger on a TV this size - and now am wishing I hadn't... First order today for store pickup on this RCA 55" was cancelled by store, prior to pickup. as store inventory was apparently now depleted... I get that that can happen - but strike one... as I was already in their parking lot, stalking my email for confirmation to pick up... I quickly ordered the same item from another store, 15 minutes further. Order quickly processed for store pickup and politely #and carefully!# placed by employee in my car when I picked it up. My wife and I took the utmost care in carrying/unpacking the TV at home, but when I turned it on, the screen had major internal damage - large black and colored splotches on the screen - and no picture from any input... Strike 2. Now I get to pack TV back up and return tomorrow in record cold and snow... #Hope Best Buy believes I didn't cause the damage...# My 3-4 nearest local stores do not have TV in stock - so now I get to track one down.. and wait longer... Fantastic... Strike 3...

55" of bare bones HDTVPosted .
I'm not a large screen tv snob but I did my research before purchasing. TV has a decent picture with an okay refresh rate. I do notice some ghosting but it is never a huge distraction. Kids play our wii on it just fine. Sound is pretty hollow. But you'll find that complaint on most larger LED TVs. You take away the depth of the tv you leave little room to house speakers. The money saved on the TV will allow a decent priced soundbar without breaking the bank. The auto adjusting sound feature is meant to keep sound levels in check when loud and soft parts play during your viewing. I find that the release of the volume is far too long to be practical. What I mean is that when the tv adjusts to compensate for a loud section it takes far too long to return normal conversations back to a decent level. If this was a quicker release it would be much more useful. Decent amount of personalization options as far as color, sharpness, brightness, etc goes. I found a happy medium and leave it on one setting. Overall I would and have recommended this tv to friends. If you are in need of a large screen and do not care about having "smart" features you cannot go wrong with this. *Note: The composite and component inputs actually share inputs. The manual shows which input to plug in to use which setup. So you cannot have both setups running without changing cords over. **Note: Our FIOS remote does not 100% control the tv. I've tried multiple code settings and while we can power on, off, and control the volume the ONE feature we are unable to do is change the input selection of the tv (using the FIOS remote). No fault of RCA...just a comment for anyone reading this.I would recommend this to a friend

good TV for the moneyPosted .
Overall I am pleased with this TV especially for the price. I am somewhat disappointed however with the product specifications as they are misleading. I purchased this TV because it is packaged and advertised as being 120HZ refresh rate which is the minimum recomended for large screen TV's. After it was delivered and hooked up I noticed some slight blurring (pixilation) in various pictures with fast action. The back panel tag is labled as being 60HZ. Research revealed that the claim of 120HZ is not totally misleading as many manufacturers are using backlight flashing, scanning, or "motion smoothing" to reduce motion blur through video processing and therefore claim a higher refresh rate than actual. I have not been able to find anything in any advertisements for this TV that disloses the above and the packaging, specifications, and model number all claim the 120HZ refresh rate with no mention of this being accomplished through other technology and not by actually refreshing / reconstructing the panel at 120HZ. Would I recommend this TV?..........YES, probably the best TV for the price and pixilation is minimal so far. It seems to be a good product and good value for the money and the marketing technique of claiming a higher refresh rate appears to be an industry standard that is not openly disclosed in packaging and advertisement.I would recommend this to a friend

- A:Answer I purchased this TV and must say that the picture is good. The sound is terrible. It sounds very tinny. If you plan to use a sound bar, then this would be a good TV to buy. If you, like me, think you should just be able to turn tv on and watch it without having to deal with sound system, then you probably will not be happy with the quality of sound from this TV. My recommendation is go to the store and listen to the sound of this TV BEFORE you buy it. I looked at the picture but they didn't offer to turn up sound so I could hear it and I am sorely disappointed. The picture required some adjusting of colors (everyone was terribly red when we got it) but once adjusted, the picture is clear and crisp. My only issue with this tv is the terrible speakers they put in it.

- A:Answer I got a Panasonic Sound Bar and it sounds great on it. If you want digital sound, you will need to get a coaxial RCA digital cable and a converter that changes the coaxial from the tv to optical digital to the sound bar.

Q: QuestionWALMART HAS SAME RCA WITH CHEAPER PRICEWALMART has 55' same TV with $399. BestBuy will price match that ?
Asked by John.
- A:Answer I price matched from Wal Mart! You can call Best Buy's 800 number, or if you're purchasing in stores just let them know what store you found the other price. They have to verify the price online but it's an easy process.

Q: Question60hz to 120hzSimilar to a question below, however when I first turn on the tv (on input HDMI1) there is a box is the top corner of the blank screen that says "1080 p 60 hz" is this a setting on the tv? Or is there a way to change it over to 120hz?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer From what I understand, it is saying your programming is coming in at only 60 hz, but that shouldn't matter. The TV should refresh at 120 hz regardless of the programming. DONT buy this tv, or return it if possible! There are much better models out there. This one was the worst one I have ever purchased.

Q: Questioncan you use this outdoors?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No. Not recommended. The air flow grill works will allow water & liquids, sand, dirt & debris to enter. And if you have extreme temperatures, it would not be good for electronic devices from rapid contraction/expansion, etc. But you can try it over time and let us know.
