Q: Does the remote control the tv volume
A: It does on ours, and I recall that was an option when setting the Roku up. My husband prefers to use the tv remote when he wants to mute ads as he finds it easier to manipulate that way rather than using the side button on the Roku remote.

Works great
This solved our streaming problems--no more pauses. The refurbished unit came in a plain box, but seems to work fine, and it has the same guarantee as a new one. Only complaint is that had we waited a few more weeks we would have gotten a new one for the same price.
