Description
What would you sacrifice to stay on the cutting edge of technology? A month's pay? A lifetime's savings? Your digital privacy? What about your very identity? Welcome to Neo-Paris. The year is 2084. Big business has yielded to a new global force — big surveillance. Hungry for a new market, the world's innovators have pioneered a yet-untapped resource — our memories. Our darkest secrets, most intimate moments, the very fibers of our core are now cold commodities. They're digitized, bought, sold and traded at the whim of society's overarching authorities. But like any other product, they can also be stolen. Henceforth arose the memory hunters. These master mind hackers raid, snatch and even alter the memories of unsuspecting souls, rippling the tides of fate in unforeseen ways. But what happens when the mind of the most-wanted memory hunter is wiped? Could she steal back the pieces of her shattered past — or will she forever forget?Your name is Nilin — though you've forgotten that by now. Once a great thief of memories, you've been robbed of those of your own — at the hands of the omnipotent authorities who govern the mental realm. You've managed to escape from your jail cell, but now live in the prison of your clouded mind. Now, with only one last friend on whom to rely, you're faced with a choice — re-learn your past skills and steal back the fragments of your identity, or fall prey to the creators of a dangerous surveillance state. An original, all-too-believable vision of the future, Remember Me immerses you in a Paris transformed by memory digitization and authoritarian rule. As Nilin, you'll master the power to break into people's minds and recover clues to your own past. You become the hunted as powerful foes stalk you throughout the Neo-Paris streets, but rediscover your martial arts training, and you'll become a potent force to be reckoned with. Groundbreaking new gameplay mechanics including the Memory Remix, which gives you the unprecedented abilities to impact the future in real time. Construct combo attacks from scratch with Combo Lab, which gives you the platform to customize your fighting style, and includes all three unique pressen fighting moves, plus the exclusive dragon punch, spinning kick, and flash kick moves. The ultimate coup awaits your lead — if you can only Remember.

The riskiest purchase I made this year...

but I am not disappointed in my purchase. I really enjoyed this game and the new IP from Capcom so late in the life a system is something that should be applauded. I knew I wanted Remember Me when I saw it announced. I know many have bashed this game for numerous problems, but I will say my own opinion is that it's a good game for people looking for something different, even if it is only a small part of the game.
A quick breakdown:
Gameplay: 9/10, introduces so many possibilities but doesn't quite capitalize on them. The games concept of memory manipulation is an awesome idea but unfortunately doesn't get utilized enough I feel. I won't go into too much detail for spoiler purposes but the sections that do use memory manipulation are incredibly fun. Combat and general gameplay can be hit and miss. The introduction of self made combos is a nice idea but the actual combos can be a bit tricky to pull off.
Graphics: 9/10, beautiful with a lot more potential. Nothing is wrong with characters or the environment but it's the LACK of environment that you are able to explore is the problem. Neo-Paris looks so beautiful yet the game forces you so much on a linear path that you feel the world around you is wasted. I eagerly wanted to walk around the world and talk to the people so much more than what the game allowed.
Sound: 7.5/10, definitely the weakest link. While Nilin herself does fine with the voice acting it's the others around her that can bring a cringe every so often. Some characters bring bland dialog, especially Edge I found to be quite a bit more annoying then anyone else, maybe because you talk to him all the time.
Again, the name of the game here is potential. This game has...or had, since it's already released, so much potential to be a great game. The gameplay mechanics could have made this game incredible and the world of Neo-Paris would have made it a memorable blockbuster. But unfortunately things weren't quite flushed out and I'm sure people will look back at Remember Me as a missed opportunity which is really a shame. I enjoy playing the game and would recommend it to someone looking for something new.

Great game for the price I paid. Had really nice visuals and the memory puzzles are really fun. Combat can be a bit unimpressive, and the gameplay is a bit linear. An open world system would have really nailed this game.

On its surface this is a pretty basic beat'em up. The customizable combo system works well. The collectibles are cool.
The unique part of this game is the ability to enter memories and change them. Unfortunately, you are only allowed to do this about four times in the game.

Pretty fun, combat and skill leveling was a little different but similar to arkham city, with the story presentation kinda a mix of arkham city, uncharted, and tomb raider. The memory remix sequences were awesome (well, the first 3 anyway, the fourth was kinda only half, or rather a remix of a remix lol). Still pretty fun, got some mild puzzle sequences, don't recall any QTEs, so if any they were few and far between (unless you count button presses to continue your combos QTEs).
Got this for $20, and I felt satisfied. Sometimes there were audio glitches, particularly during cutscenes, when the volume gets lower or echo-ey or double-tracked, but it wasn't too much of downer. Not the best game ever, but certainly enjoyable.

The only part I was not good was actually with Bestbuy gamer's club deal. I preordered this game and later on found out that this title won't give be the preorder bonus points which was quite disappointing. Beside of that, the game was good and make me concentrate all the time.
