Synopsis

It's been a decade since the events at Raccoon City, and the President of the United States has decided it's time to reveal the truth behind what happened. His hope is that it will calm the resurgent tide of bioterrorist activity, but when the venue where the President is located is central to a bioterrorist attack, he is transformed beyond recognition. His personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, is forced to face the changed President and make the hardest decision of his life. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China and finds the nation under threat of a similar bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from harm and the subsequent outbreaks, the entire world has one thing in common: fear that there is no hope left.

Return to the horribly disfigured world of the Resident Evil universe with Resident Evil 6. Facing an unprecedented threat that looms in the minds of the world's population, franchise-favorites Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield join forces for the first time in the series. The latest installment to the legendary action- and survival-horror franchise delivers three distinct and interwoven storylines. Experience the thrilling horror with multiple characters and their respective partners. Leon S. Kennedy is paired with U.S. government agent Helena Harper, Chris Redfield has teamed up with BSAA member Piers Nivans, and Jake Muller, son of the infamous Albert Wesker and gun for hire, has joined up with Sherry Birkin, who is the daughter of former Umbrella scientists, William and Annette. Face the deadly C-virus — and its gruesome effects — in this worldwide adventure that will take you to North America, war-torn eastern Europe and China. Engage in white-knuckle combat against terrifying and advanced zombies that can run, jump and use weapons against you. Strategically attack enemy creatures, known as J'avo, who possess the ability to regenerate when injured and mutate severely damaged body parts into different forms. Experience a vast array of horrific creatures — that are an abomination to nature — thanks to the mutated Chrysalide. Use the evolved control system to shoot while moving, slide, roll, take cover and execute powerful melee attacks. Lock and load for the thrilling action in single-player and co-op gameplay, available on- and offline. Pre-order Resident Evil 6 to receive an exclusive map that functions with various game modes. With humanity on the brink of disaster, are you ready to become civilization's last hope?

    A Letdown for the Franchinse

I've been a fan of the Resident Evil franchise since Resident Evil 1 on the original Playstation. Now while this game's story works great with the overall mythology, overall ... I didn't feel like I was playing a game. I thought I was watching a movie. It felt about every couple minutes, I would have to watch some cut-scene or participate in a QTE, which detracts from the gameplay. I got so sick of this, that I would find myself turning off the game or trying to skip these cinematic elements. Also, the camera work would be horrible at times. But I hear Capcom is releasing an update soon to address this problem. But again, the shoddy camera pulls the gamer out of the experience and makes them hate playing. But if you're able to get over these big detractions, the game does have some positives. First, there are 4 main campaigns to choose from. Each campaign will take more than 5 hours on the initial play, making the overall game more than 20 hours. I like to get every achievement/trophy, and it took me about 40 hours to achieve this goal. So there's plenty of stuff to do here. Seccond, I appreciated the unique idea of the interwoven story. It's hard to explain. But one campaign's story will be interwoven with another. So sometimes when playing online, you'll find that your game will intersect another players and they'll join you in your mission. It's a great idea, and the final outcome works well. I liked how each story is interconnected with the others. But in the end, I felt this game was too much like the Resident Evil films, which I loathe. And these cinematic scenes came way too often, and pulled me out of my gaming experiences. As soon as I finished the game 100%, I used Best Buy's trade-in to get this out of my house as soon as possible. With so many newer, and better games coming this holiday season, Resident Evil 6 just doesn't compete against Assassin's Creed III, Halo 4, Black Ops II and many others.

Dont get me wrong - i love resident evil, its a great franchise, but i think they tried to fix or improve too many things that were not broken. first off, there is no conceivable inventory system which i have come to expect from 4 and 5. While the gun upgrades in 5 were less than desireable than thhe system in 4, the upgrades in 6 are asolute garbage. you basicaly get these little "skills" that will "make handguns more powerful" - i dont like that at all. I like spending all my cash (another thing that does not exist in this game) on upgrading things like a cool shotgun. I find it too difficult to switch between weapons as well - i am only a few chapters in and have like 6 guns, its difficult to manage when shotgun, rifle, and machine gun all look too much the same - makes in combat swicthes too time consuming - leading to zombies grappling you and cutting health in half. lastly, this game has WAY TOO MANY quick time events - some of them are hard to keep up with even on normal - QTE's are not what makes these games fun and this is a classic example of them making this experience kinda lack luster. fans of RE 4 and 5 will likely be let down, whereas someone looking to start up again after say RE 2/3 may find it someone playable.+ My advise - rent before you buy. and have a good 1-2 hour playtime penciled in, because even though you can "SAVE" at any time - it seems to start you way back at the start of the chapter - kiss your 45-60 mins goodbye...ditch this system and bring back the typewriters...at least then i know where i will be when i die!

So first off if you played the dragon's dogma resident evil demo then don't worry, they picked the worst parts of the game to show you. The game is huge, there are 4 campaigns to play. Each is about 4-6 hours long. There is also a mode called agent hunt mode where you can invade other players games as a monster. Also the return of mercenaries! Leon's campaign is a return to classic featuring zombies and spooky enviroments. Also probably the best of the 4. Chris's story is an action game, Jake's is more of a hybrid with more focus on hand to hand combat and a lot of running away. The partners in this game are a lot smarter and won't steal your items. However they can be slow when you need them to get to a door. I want to write more about this game and how awesome it is but it would be better for you to play it.

RE6 is ultimately a very disappointing game that should have been much better. The gameplay is clunky and feels unsatisfying and the story-line is paper thin and completely uninteresting. Don't expect much from the characters. Even though there are 7 playable characters, they act like cardboard cutouts, so don't expect much in the character development department. Playing this game by yourself is a disaster, but you can get a little bit of enjoyment out of it if you have a co-op partner. This is really the only redeeming quality about the game. If you're in it for the horror, look elsewhere, because this game is all about shallow action, but it's not very fun...

Wish it was more like RE4 because it had a much darker atmosphere about it, you can only select 3 skills at a time which is ridiculous! For example, "You select unlimited ammo for the shotgun, assault rifle, and sniper rifle. And for some reason you need unlimited ammo for the handgun or semi auto hand machine gun, you now have to press select and switch skills why'll you're in live combat or whatever risking death or failing an objective. This is really ridiculous to me! Other than that, good game, highly recommend that they go back to the older ways like in re4 and re5!

I'm not sure why so many people disliked this game. 3 campaigns that overlap and feel unique, excellent atmosphere and great action. It's not what I remember Resident Evil to be (RE1/2 era) and is way more action-oriented but there is great variety in gameplay and online coop is excellent. There's multiplayer but I haven't even looked at it - I come for story. It's a blast - easily worth the discounted price you can find it for now.

Worst entry into the RE franchise to date. Design team decided to focus all their assets into multiplayer and forgo: plot, character depth, rewarding gameplay, and fun. Instead of the traditional survival horror game we expect, we are given a grind fest that will slowly drain the life out of you as you question if the gameplay is really worth your RE fandom.

Resident Evil 6 picks up where RE5 left off in terms of gameplay. This entry is just as good as the last one. The voice acting is sort of corny. However, the music and sound effects of the zombies is satisfying. The visuals are amazing as has always been the case with the RE series. I'd recommend this game if you're a fan of Resident Evil.
