If the store wasn’t so far away, I would return it, directions are unclear, paper tray is flimsy, ink lasts no time and even with free ink you will have to buy some if you print pictures or much of anything else. I was out of ink 5 days before receiving it.

I can certainly understand why inadequate instructional materials, unsatisfying workmanship and rapid ink use would add up to a dreadful start to owning the device. As for the rapid ink use, I can’t say for certain what happened in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less yet than ones in our Instant Ink program. Another possibility is the printer is not reading the cartridges correctly and is giving an inaccurate reading.

Once working it's pretty good and I haven't had any issues. The HP support and web site control page leave a lot to be desired. I thought HP was THE printer company? It appears they still haven't recovered from Carly Fiorina running the company in to the ground....

We went with this because our first 2 choices weren’t available. It feels kind of cheaply made but it does the job. The printing is slow but it’s ok. This is good for a home who just needs occasional printing, copying, and scanning.

They tell you that it comes with 8 months of instant ink but that's a lie. You have to pay for the ink- deceptive advertising. Can tell this was made in China and won't last long!

Very easy to setup. However after the initial alignment of the paper an error message occurred. OPEN DOOR. The HP site was extremely helpful. Unfortunately based on their recommendation there was nothing else to troubleshoot as the door sensor was obviously damaged. I called my local BestBuy and was was advised the printer was sold out. I will be returning. In the meantime I ordered another HP. The Envy PHOTO 7155. It arrived this evening. Just took it out the box to realized the included ink cartridges were missing. I’m pretty easy going but this is frustrating. Will be calling Best Buy in the am.
