If you want a low cost machine to read your email, order pizza, and browse the web, this is a perfectly useful little machine. It's a little slow, and the screen isn't super hi-res, but for the price, I'm more than satisfied. Battery lasts weeks under light use.

I have been thinking about getting a Chromebook for a long time. I do a lot of content development and like to test on all platforms. When I saw this on sale for $80 I figured it was a chance worth taking. I ended up taking it on a short business trip and it worked out great. I was able to keep up on all emails and join video calls. I could also remote into my home system flawlessly. My PC will remain my workhorse but this will be used daily and I believe find a spot next to the couch. The battery life is great, I didn't even have to back a power supply for the two-day trip. I ran it for four days at home, using it in the evening, without having to plug it in. I wouldn't pay the list price but for under $100, it's a great little Email-Web device. It fills that space when you want to use more than a tablet but you don't want to fire up the laptop. The fact that it runs a large number (but not all) of the android apps is very cool.

If you’re looking for a meat and potatoes productivity laptop then you’ve come to the right place! I’ve always had good experiences with Acer and the Kenzo Chromebook 311 is no different so far after a couple weeks. In the box you get the basics: laptop, charger, instructions/warranty/etc., and some privacy slider stickers to cover your webcam when you’re not using it. If you’ve used a Chromebook before you know that when you login you’ll be prompted to sign into Google or else make a Google account. Since I was planning to use this as an education laptop for my kids homeschooling I created a new account and it took somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes (the hardest part is finding a name that isn’t taken and also isn’t what you wanted with random numbers after it). Once you’re into the laptop proper you get the Chrome OS desktop and can begin to surf the web, shop the Play store, or adjust your wallpaper/settings. It's minimal and clean but will take some getting used to if you haven’t used anything besides Mac or Windows in a while. You won’t run games on this bad boy (emulators seem to work without issue and most of the anti-productivity game sites as well) but you’ll have access to Google Drive or any of the apps for writing, spreadsheets, picture management, etc. You’ll want to take advantage of the USB 2.0 or USB-C ports for external memory as with all Chromebooks you only get a 32gb hard drive (although it's fast!). As for other features its super lightweight, 2.2lbs according to the box and that seems right, has an 11” monitor, 4gb Ram, backlit keyboard, and a battery that’s listed as being 15 hours continual use (we’ve used it off and on for the past week without plugging it in so that also seems to be in the ballpark). It's not flashy in looks or performance but what it does it does well and it's super compact and lightweight. You’ll be able to pack this in a backpack or bag to take to school or the office without issue. You have an assignment to do, this will help you do it! You wanna see the latest memes and YouTube videos then this laptop has your back. Everything you need and then a little extra! I think you’ll be very pleased with this Chromebook if you get one as long as you don’t get it confused with a standard laptop which has onboard graphics tech to play games.

Bought the Acer Chromebook 311 for a young lady who just graduated college. She is a writer and works remotely. It is light weight and is just what she was needing. She is very pleased as it can handle all the programs she needs. She highly recommends it.

I bought 2 of these for my daughters. I’m a new homeschool mom. I bought it so the girls can do work and play educational games. I know nothing about computers or laptops and just wanted something that would work and easy to use. So far, so good. One daughter uses “ABC mouse” and the other “Time 4learning” (curriculum). It makes them happy to have their own and are now more eager to do their work. Maybe this isn’t great for people who know about computers but for me, all I wanted was a laptop so the kids can do their work. I’m VERY pleased. You don’t need a mouse but I bought a Bluetooth mouse and it’s helpful!! The kids use it all the time. I have a printer at home but I don’t know how to print straight from the laptop yet lol. Still learning. For now, I just sign on to their account from my iPad or iphone and print out from there.

To be honest I'm not a fan of chromebooks simply because I dislike google's privacy policies (more accurately no-privacy policies) but when my cheap PC laptop stopped working and chips are still being held up in the supply chain so PCs are way more expensive than normal I settled for a chrome to just stream stuff when I'm working on my main computer. This does fine for that. I installed Firefox ESR to surf for more privacy and it's inefficient - google has made sure it doesn't play nice with other systems. I haven't tried zoom or to really use a chromebook to it's full extent - I think that would be frustrating & I applaud people who can really work it to do a lot. So it's a good stop-gap purchase until PC prices normalize. I did prefer the ACER over Lenovo's chromebooks for their touchpad/hardcase interface; it was just sleeker & lighter weight.

A little disappointed, however, the price point vs value is a win win. The pictures on BB and acer showed 2 USB-C ports and a USB 3.0 port. Received mine yesterday. One USB-C and one USB, but not 3.0. At least the socket isn't blue. So I'm not sure - new to Chromebooks so I don't know how to check. I do have a USB C multi adapter that has 3.0 and others. This isn't a deal breaker that the description is innacurate. Just want people to know. Overall this is what I expected. Bought it as an inside/outside/wherever device. It's a hundred bucks. not a catastrophe if I drop it, drown it, lose it. So overall I'm more than satisfied, but not ecstatic.
