This laptop has all the features , capacity and performance one would expect for home use and some basic business functions. It weighs a bit more than a Mac Pro but the price difference made for an easy decision. Great help from Best Buy

This laptop runs my software programs smoothly and efficiently. I also like the availability to use it as a tablet and couple it with my Bamboo pen. It's light, not cumbersome, and has a great battery life.

I am very pleased with this laptop. It starts up so fast.(about 5 seconds) I love the face recognition choice. The website info doesn't mention that this laptop has an option to light your keyboard. This was a happy surprise and a very handy feature which makes it easy in dim light. The screen definition is outstanding! It is true high definition. The 3 in 1 feature is also great. I just flip it into a tent and have so much more room on my craft desk. I will probably get another one for my son.

I went to BB hoping to purchase an Asus Zenbook, last year's model. Sadly, it was out of stock, and I really really just wanted to have a computer again, so I started looking around the various tables. What I discovered was that there are really a lot of options between 500 and 900 dollars, my price range. I knew I wanted an i5 with 8GB of RAM, a decent screen, and a backlit keyboard. This computer appealed to me instantly when I saw it because of the nice screen size (an unusual 14 in model, larger than a MacBook Air but smaller than a business laptop). For all the shortcomings attributed to Hewlett-Packard (poor battery life and performance most commonly), they Really know how to design laptops. Their computers are generally affordable, with a few toward the top of the price scale (for any aesthetes looking for a high-powered, high-priced laptop, please go check out the HP Spectre line first). The HP Pavilion series has for years been a well-respected line of affordable notebooks and netbooks that suit the needs and budget of a college student very well, but that doesn't mean they skimp on looks. The machine I'm typing on is 0.7 inches thick with stylish bevel along the edges, and keys that are just the right height above the keyboard. Keystrokes have a satisfying depth to them which makes the typing experience better than any tablet hybrid I've tried; the Microsoft Surface line has the irritating problem of keys that are basically flush, making normal typing feel very much like typing on a touchscreen, which I hate. I like my fingers to know when they've pressed a key. In addition, rose-gold finish on the lid makes this easy on the eyes while the smooth curved edges and unusual size make it distinctive. It's not shaped like a MacBook, and it's larger than your average notebook. I've been very satisfied with the tablet mode. Flip the screen around, and it's ready to take notes by hand or draw (in Windows Ink Workspace, included), or just watch a movie in your lap. The Bluetooth is the latest version, and connected quickly to my earbuds. The screen is FHD, not QHD+, but I've found it to look great anyway. Netflix shows still look great in 1920x1080 with accurate color reproduction. I haven't done anything terribly strenuous with the processor yet but it's been snappy for what I've used it for. The latest and greatest Intel i5 can handle most anything you'd use in day-to-day life without slowdown. A big selling point for me additionally was the solid-state drive. For the non-techy: you want this because it has no moving parts, so the computer doesn't get hot from the hard drive, only the processor; and it accesses information far quicker. When MacBooks talk about their All-Flash architecture, that's basically the same thing. 128GB isn't great (2016 ZenBooks have the same RAM and processors, but 256), particularly when 40% of it is immediately filled by the operating system, but if you just get a largish flash-drive, or better, a 1TB external hard drive, it shouldn't be a problem. I will say that this computer does come with plenty of bloatware which you should not hesitate to uninstall for most of it. As a word of warning, also: please, for the love of heaven, do not ever use to the Windows Store. It is a horribly designed app platform with nothing worth having available for free. You are far better off using traditional freeware downloads like VLC Player. On the whole: Screen: 9/10 (great, just not 4K or QHD+ level) Processor: 10/10 (no issues stemming from processor speed yet at all) Looks: 10/10 (You're not gonna find a laptop this pretty under $1000 almost anywhere) OS: Windows 10 has always sucked for me, but it doesn't seem so bad now, running a laptop built to handle it. That being said, the start menu and Cortana are both super irritating. Seriously, the start menu was fine the way it was, Microsoft. You should've stuck with the version from Windows 7. Also, this drives me nuts....Windows 7, Windows 8....Windows 10. What? Features: Bluetooth: good. Sound: Bang & Olufsen sound noticeably better than my old Asus. Keyboard: backlit when you want it to be, sleek, and well spaced. Function Keys: work as expected, eliminate unnecessary house-clicks. Webcam: pretty good resolution, for a webcam. Touchscreen: seems very adequately responsive. Includes Paint 3D (thus far, super fun to mess around with) and Windows Ink Workspace, both of which are really fun if you buy a stylus. Screen wipes clean very easily. Body: 8/10 (All-aluminum, matte finish, very stylish, but weighs a slightly-more-than-ideal 3.5 lbs, but this is due to extra screen size, not thickness. It remains very slim. Also, no internal DVD drive, though once I plugged in an external it ran like a charm) Overall: 9.3/10

I bought the HP touch screen laptop for my son to take to college. I can’t coment personally on using it , but my son is extreamly happy with it. He loves the touch screen and that it folds down flat. It’s works great when he goes to class and doesn’t have a big workspace. It really has met all his needs at school so far. We’re thinking of getting a laptop or notepad for his younger brother who is a freshman at high school. Best Buy will be the first place we go shopping and we’ll be looking at another HP product.

This laptop is very light and slim, and it fits in my book bag nicely. I love the touchscreen feature on it, the color of it, and the brightness of the screen and the keyboard. The only thing I do not like about this laptop is the facial recognition does not always work and it only has 2 USB ports. Other than that it is a great buy!

I really love the combination of touch screen and key board (and it also allows a pen stylus too, but I'm not using the function at this time). Good value, a little heavy to cart around, but a good size screen, so that makes it a little bigger and heavier.

I was stressed out because my laptop decided to retire itself. As a business owner the timing couldn't have been worse. I am not very tech savvy. Our local Best Buy was really busy but I was lucky enough to have the manager helping me. His customer service was top notch. After reviewing what was available this HP laptop was more than I wanted to spend but I love the touch screen aspect with the drawing capabilities. It is easier to draw out wedding cake designs. I also really like how light weight it is. I will definitwly get another SSD.

I am a student and needed a new laptop for school. My biggest requirement was a fast processor so I didn't waste time waiting for pages to load. I went ahead and purchased this laptop after quite a lot of research and based on reviews elsewhere. The first one I bought was inoperable right out of the box (screen black, did not work). After 30 mins on the phone with HP, I took it back to BB and exchanged for a new one. I set up the new one and put it aside for the next day. The very next day there was a slight delay in start up and everything dragged and delayed. I was tempted to take this one back too, but after updating and restarting, everything works like new. It's the perfect size, fast, great sound, and screen looks great. My four stars is based on the fact it does not have a backlit keyboard and sometimes the fan is louder than I am used to, but it doesn't happen often. Because the keyboard lettering is so light, a backlit option would be very helpful. But overall SSD is definitely the way to go. As usual, the BB employees both times around were very helpful and friendly. The only unfortunate thing about this whole experience is the very next day after I bought it, it went on sale for $50 less. Win some and lose some I guess.

I've had this laptop for over a month now and so far I'm thrilled with it. Its fast, quiet, cool, not too heavy--& had everything I needed & more. Its got optional backlighting keys--the display is extremely clear. It is a touch screen, even does that full reverse foldable thing. It doesn't come with 1TB of memory, but if you're like me & believe you really should be saving most of your important stuff to an external hard drive anyway, you won't mind that saving you a bit of money☺.
