    I know that I needed to protect my laptop, but I advise anyone who purchases the protection to read the fine print.

    I CALLED AND ASKED ABOUT A CERTAIN PROGRAM AND WAS TRANSFERRED TO UK FOR THEM TO STEAL MY IDENTITY

      Hi Adrian – That Geek Squad Protect & Support Plus plan covers your computer for both software support and hardware issues. We definitely shouldn’t have added it on without your permission, however. You can visit your local store or give us a call at 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778) to go over your options for canceling the plan if you no longer need it.

    Geek insurance guys sucks. Buying an insurance on new insurance is worst decisions.

    When my hard drive crashed on my old computer, I was absolutely devastated. I was in the middle of finals in my semester and it was critical that I get my computer fixed ASAP for school. When my husband brought my computer to the Geek Squad, they told him it was my hard drive that crashed (I overloaded it with school and work) and they would have to replace it with a new BIGGER one. I was at work when I received the call and literally broke down in tears after hearing the bad news. On top of that, the representative told me it would take about two weeks before they could get the new hard drive installed into my computer... that made everything worse. I lost all my notes from school that day and now I wouldn't have a computer for two weeks. I told the man my situation with school and he informed me he would do all he could to speed up the process.... I got a call two days later saying my computer was ready, just in time for mid-terms! I was overjoyed with the service this man provided. I will always take my electronics to the Geek Squad!

    Geek Squad Protection Plan Rocks!!

    Anytime I purchased a big ticket item form best buy I always elect to get the protection plan. Unfortunately, I've had to use the protection plan when my daughter's previous laptop went out. Best Buy Geek Squad was great and the protection plan live up to it's side of the bargain. Since her laptop couldn't be repaired I was issued a store credit for the purchase price. I had 30 days to use the credit towards a new laptop or I would lose the $229. The credit of the purchase price was great. The only thing I think needs to be improved is the 30 days need to be increased to 60 days. You should give enough time for people to account for any extra monies they may need to purchase a new product.

    Geek Squad Support Plus

    We've purchased many notebooks from Best Buy for our staff--many of whom work remotely--with 3 year ADH Support Plus plans. I've always been told I can 'add it on later' but usually purchase the plans at the time of sale. But this last time I couldn't, do to lack of available credit on my company card. So imagine my disappointment when I had to 'add it on later' and was told by the Geek Squad tech that I'd "have to bring the device into the store" to add this service. I can't do that because the user is on the other side of the country with the device and I can't force the user to, nor can I guarantee that he will, take the device to his "nearest Best Buy store." Guess we'll just deal with the warranties that came with the device.

    I like it except...

    I bought an alienware 17 r3 and got the plan for it. It broke and I returned the laptop to the store. They sent it out and a couple of days later they called and said that they could not fix the laptop. Because they no longer have that model they said that they would offer me 1400 dollars for the laptop. I paid 1650 for it. When I asked why I was getting a lower amount they said that it's because they offer current market value. I just don't think this is how it should work. I know it probably says it in the fine print that I didn't read but I think you should get the full price for it.

    Haven't Needed to Use it Yet

    I normally don't buy extended warranties, but with a laptop you never know what can happen, I thought the price was a bit expensive, but knowing that no matter what happens to the machine, I will be able to get help from the Geek Squad whether I take the machine in or talk to the folks on line. That gives me a feeling of security.

    When I purchased my computer, I didn't think twice when asked if I wanted to get the Geek Squad protection. In the past, I have found the Geek Squad very helpful. They are very knowledgeable and always take time with the customers. They are very patient if you don't understand and will try to explain things until you get it.

    Very sleek design

    Very smooth design, not really bulky like my other laptops that I've had in the past. The laptop is very fast and is worth every penny. Makes my web browsing and email checking a breeze. I'm able to run some of the most complex programs out there.

    I love being able to call with questions or have my computer looked at whenever the need arises without having to pay to do so! The Geek Squad usually always does a great job in helping me and answering my questions. If they don't readily know the answer to a question, they find out and get back to me.

    Needed Geek Squad Immediately

    The Dell laptop got some malware on it from my buddy surfing on the laptop. Geek squad was easy to contact, schedule an appointment and they had everything back to top shape in a day. They pointed out some of the software that would allow malware and turned on the security for the laptop too. Awesome.
